has anyone heard of a dealer called genuine cobs. i believe there are in the south.

Hi
Are you thinking of "Safe Cobs"?
I think they have a www.safecobs.co.uk site..........
based in Ashdown Forest area near East Grinstead/Tunbrigde Wells??
Good Luck.....btw, have heard good reports of them but not bought anything myself.

i have been told they are new dealers called genuine cobs. i had a livery turn up yesterday with a cob she has just bought there. i thought she said guildford/surrey area

You are right.....just googled and found "www.genuinecobs.com"
and they are near Gulidford....

you are spoilt for choice!

We have a horse from safecobs on our yard. Its not a cob and its not exactly safe either (bucks like mad and bites/kicks on the ground). However the guy that owns him loves him to bits and is a pretty good rider so they have built up a mutual respect and enjoy themselves.

Just to let you know that my cob came from Safecobs and has manners to die for and is well schooled so my instructor said also my vet rates them......and he is a middleweight cob so could easy take the p*ss if he wanted too!!! And at the end of the day no horse can ever be 100% safe as they are not machines.........just a little rant over now!

Haven't been to Safecobs, but did phone them up when I was looking last year and they were very helpful and actually said the one I was interested in would probably not be suitable for me. Went to Bombproof - what can I say????

Have seen the bombproof site as I was looking a lot before getting my two last year. I have to say while some horses did look nice on there, their prices were too much imo and the quantity of horses to pass through their hands worried me. You would look one week and the next it would say so and so had been sold and new ones would appear etc.
I don't know call me a bit wary if you like but I was put off by the prices for horses I knew very little about and the quantity the dealers were passing through their hands so to speak.
Don't think I have looked at the safe cobs one though, will have a gander.
My daughter's lad Mcfly came from these people via leominster sales, web page gypsy vanner cobs
They seemed nice people to deal with although he was bought at auction. They were both friendly and answered questions before we bid on him and were then very friendly after the sales too.
Mcfly is by the old horse of wales and his dam is the old black mare so by gypsy vanner standards he has good breeding which is why I thought I got a bargain at the sales as he only cost just over 1700 with buyers premium.
A lovely horse we are all smitten with and has such a sweet nature too.
I know I would have much rather taken a chance with that amount of cash than give over 4 grand to a dealer to a horse I know very little about ( irish cobs site that is).
