I need to sell my horse quick due to circumstances and complete lack of time! She is a very telented mare but needs to be competed and ridden!

Does anyone know of any dealers in the south east that give instant cash or buys instantly?

Thanks!

I did pm you about some of the suggestions!

You would be better off to put this in new lounge as will get more responses there

If you look in the vet section this horse is lame behind, rears and has been labelled as dangerous by her owner....

not sure passing it off onto a dealer is the best idea really. :(

Having read the other threads you need to take responsibility for this mare. Either investigate fully her issues to get to the bottom of her behaviour or have her PTS.

You cannot surely sleep at night knowing this mare could be sold by a dealer and seriously hurt some unsuspecting innocent buyer. A dealer could drug her and she appears rideable at the trial and then all hell will break out.

I agree with the above point. You need to take responsibility for this horse. Its all part and parcel of horse ownership and you can just flog it on because its a problem.
You either get to the bottom of the issue or sell it on stating ALL the facts.

Why not send your horse to a good holistic vet for a thorough assessment? I sent mine to Donna Blinman (at Higham near Newmarket) who is a vet who is qualified in osteopathy and acupunture and her partner is a behaviourist. She is inexpensive, my horse went there for 2 weeks.
She would try to get to the root cause and if there is no hope get the poor horse pts for goodness sake.
I as many other HHOers have had a dangerous horse. People kept giving me conflicting advice from blaming my approach to saying the horse was just a prize b***d. I got to the root cause - it took 7 months to do so and I gave myself goals, deciding that dependent on different outcomes he would be pts. We stopped riding him as soon as his dreadful ground behaviour started in his ridden work. He was in chronic pain.
It's stinks getting sold a horse with a problem, but don't add to that chain and sell the horse on!
A true tale for you:
A friend of mine recently went to view a dressage horse. Luckily it was raining hard and when the horse was pulled out of the stable it was far too big for my friend's client so she dismissed it as unsuitable immediately. The client told a neighbour about the horse and she went to see it. She bought it untried as the sellers said there was noone to ride it and she trusted their description of the horse's temperament etc. She unfortunately decided to try it at home the next day and it went vertical and over with her. She broke 3 vertebrae and is lucky to be alive and walking, but will never ride again! She is an experienced rider.
Now she has kept the horse. She had it fully checked and it has a complaint with it's wither which means that as soon as it is ridden it gets shooting pains at the wither, hence the rearing. It is treatable and will take a year to put right. Now this brave lady is doing the right thing. Please follow her good example. You owe it to both the horse and every walking person she could injure.

have contacted Donna and also got the vet out today, he behaviour on the ground has improved so much but still needs help with loading and other little things. The vet said that her doesn't think its her back but something in her right hind and he doesn't know what. Do you reckon its worth sending her to Donna's or to have her treated by my vet for nerve blocks and scans in the leg to see whats wrong?!

All I can say is Donna is fab.. She is currently treating my mums mare & the results are great and her partner deals with all behaviour problems like loading.

Do you think my horse would benefit from being down there even with a unknown lameness in her leg?? Will Donna be able to sort that/ work with her?

Ours went to her with a sticking stifle & Donna worked with that and took her to her friend at rossdales for scans, found the causes and got her better, other vets just wanted to operate on the stifles but donna that it was secondary to something else and she was right!.. I've not read your previous posts so don't know the ins & outs of your horse's problem.. But from my experience Donna can find the problem whatever it may be.. She's a very talented equine vet who treats the cause of a problem & not the symptoms..

I second this - Donna is like a breath of fresh air - really really getting to the root cause rather than treating the symptoms. I would always now seek the opinion of a holistic vet for anything serious or mysterious.
She is also a great adviser on diet :)
