Hi all đź‘‹ been away from the forum
For too long (life took over, not in a good way!)

Advice needed- I have a 7.5t Horsebox, yr 2000 that I need to sell. Based in south Leicestershire. Ideally could do with a quick sale as needing to relocate and my hands are quite full
Right now- who would you recommend approaching? Looking for experiences (good and bad) of dealers that buy 7.5t. Thanks 🙏

I think that the age of your lorry could be a stumbling block for the dealers, they have to offer warranties and accept some risk. Have you tried selling locally through social media?

Yes, it’s on FB marketplace, just added this week. Was trying to find a back up plan as need a relatively quick sale due to moving and won’t have storage space soon.

There are a couple of dealers I’ve made enquiries with that do sell yr 2000 onwards used boxes, they just don’t offer warranty on them. Was hoping that recommendations from people’s experiences might help me to aim it at the right place.

How much MOT does it have? Id be inclined to get a full 12 months, price it competitively on marketplace and cross my fingers, people will be starting to think about summer adventures

Thanks- yes, full 12 months as of last week.

Sadly I don’t think any dealers would be interested in that age of box, you may find one that would sell on commission but again it might not be worth their time.

With full MOT and the right price it will probably sell on Facebook, good luck!

I have recently been on the buying side and I found a lot of people tend to use central England horseboxes to sell theirs, I believe though they sell on behalf of clients they do not buy and sell on. Despite many many people using them they do have some negative comments about them, from a sellers side, not updating clients their wagon has been sold and also not sticking to prices agreed with clients, from a buyers side absolutely useless to get a hold of but do appear to be able sell lots of wagons. The other ones that come up a lot that might buy from you to sell on are Horsebox Sellers but again from a buyers side they get terrible reviews but not sure if they’d do from a sellers side just wanting a quick sale.
