Does anyone know any dealers who buy horses immediately?

If you could please PM me details or add them below it would be appreciated.

do you dislike your horse so much that you want to sell him to that sort of home?

I had a pony I disliked enough to do this - would never have made a kids pony, I wouldn't have lied about it either.....anyway dealer took it away that day and a few weeks later I saw it being driven, it looked well and seemed to be going well, so it found it's job in life, I would do it again without hesitation, not all dealers are ogres you know.

We dont know OP situaion so cant comment on whether its the right thing to do or not. Dealers wont give you much for your horse. Theres the market option to to consider, at least you can set a reserve. What area are you in?

Anyone who knows me on this forum will know I often have an alterior motive behind a post. Do not take things on face value!

I am in Somerset.

Several on horse and hound saying instant sale, though there is the strong chance that the horse would be going for meat. Don't be expecting market value either.

Ah ok, somerset, do you have your own transport? Exeter market is the 2nd tuesday of every month (if you can wait that long). Failing that there is a few dealers in this area that may be worth a try. Prob a bit more local then the ones advertised on H&H. Heres one of them http://www.adhorse.com/viewuserdetails.php?id=17855 (also known as quarrystone) Um, there is another bid dealer a bit closer but cant for the life of me remember his name. Have u tried responding to some wanted ads? I dont know what it is being sold but I dont imagine they'll give you much more than £800 for anything.

Spottytb be careful putting posts on like that, may get yourself in trouble, x

you have us interested now as to what the "ulterior motive is"

depending on what you have lec I buy horses, my website is [Commercial URL Removed] please dont be offended I but dont take in horses with issues... rearing bucking etc, to much work and dispite any amount of work i put in when i sell them on I cant guarentee the issues have gone so to speak. oh also.. tbs i try and stay away from them to .. Expect to get very little back for him and his future would be very uncertain, might possibly end on a slaughter truck. Not a nice option to consider, I'm sure there is another way. Is he sound ? Have any temperament issues ? Can't you loan him to someone who would possibly want a challenge or even give him away ? What about a field companion ? :)

There is someone advertising in horse and hound saything they will buy any horse!

Someone I know used these people when they decided their horse was dangerous. He had become a menace in the yard, would walk through or over anyone or anything, and became a nightmare under saddle. He should have been put down, but they chose to sell him to these people, who turned up in a rusty cattle truck and took him away, no questions asked. They paid them £800 for him.

Indeed it is all sorted now! Thanks for the replies. We basically needed a meat price for a very nice horse for a legal matter.
