Do any dealers do this a friend has a lovely dressage horse that she just cant ride its not naughty and goes really nicely for me and a few others but it just knows she is not that experienced. She does not have the money to get me to ride it and sell it on.

So i wondered if any dealers would do a part exchange she knows she will lose money to x

I think most dealers will do this, but they will usually want some money as well rather than doing a straight swap as it were.

i dont think she will do that she paid good money for the horse !!

Why doesn't she sell it privately and just be honest with people when they try the horse?
If it goes well for you, can you not ride the horse for buyers (for a small fee!)

she does not want the hassle - dont ask i have tried to say this a few times !! and to be honest i would want more than a small fee - mad as its not like she does not have the money !

I remember someone who started off with a very nice 15.2 mare; after about 4 exchanges with the dealer she ended up with a 13.3 gelding and a bank balance several hundred pounds lighter. This was about 35 years ago, so the money figure would probably have another zero on the end now.

No, it wasn't me.

I've done exchanges with dealers without any money involved. You just have to be honest with these people; which is a good general rule for life!

Stacey can you pm some details of the horse? I know someone who's looking to buy at the moment and might be interested.

Also have you still got the other mare you had for sale...the one that had had a couple of foals and was now back in work?

If you could let me have some details I'll pass them on.
