Dear Great Britian,

Could you spare some sun please?
Not much just a hour would be nice, we have had weather that can only be descibed as English for the last two weeks. Rain, in the form of scotch mist + torrential down pour and everything in between. Accompanied by low grey skies and cold driving winds.

This is meant to be our spring, the tarmac is starting to squelch and I think I could grow rice in the field. I am rapidly running out of dry clothes and can't dry shoes fast enough. The horses at the yard and gathering drift wood and muttering comments about Ark's and stocking up on grain. The soil thoroughly wet for the first time in years and the trees are falling over in shock.

I will glad return the favour later in the year when the snow sets, if we ever get any sun that is.

Yours sincerly,

Soggy Australia.

I thought you had a drought over there? (down under)

Anyway .... you have enough sunshine over there normally, we don't nearly have enough (1 or 2 days a year!!) so if there is any going spare it's ours ..... :D

(love the soggy tarmac :D )

no! We stole the sun and we are NOT giving it back! Mainly cos we, er, cant quite remember where we put it last.....it was here just a couple of weeks ago......ggrrrr! I bet France has stolen it from us!!!! Ggggrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I arrive on the 24 December (if I make it as im booked onto a qantas airbus A380 this year ) for the annual trip to see my family - Felicity_09 do you think you can get the weather sorted by then? :D Thanks

Oh and the French have def nicked the weather - its 18-20 degrees in pau at the moment and majorly sunny :(

The sea of mud fields and rain is already annoying me.

Sorry we need the Sun as we are getting to the stage of forgetting what it looks like.:p:pBut my relatives in Perth keep boasting how hot it is there at the moment so perhaps they've hogged it.:eek::eek:

Well, actually, we may have stolen the sun here :o....its not rained since...well, can't remember :o

Can we pretty please have some rain? Just a little bit mind, don't want any soggy tarmac or mud please, just a bit of water - my well is running dry and all my plants are dying :( ;)

Becca-84, how many bucketfuls would you like, as we have a fine drizzle here at the moment, so I know my 4 will be wringing wet and trashing their paddocks when I go back in a couple of hours:mad::mad::mad:

Hmmm......whats it worth - how much you willing to pay for our wonderfull cure-all-ills water?!;)

Haha, Echo Bravo, not too many! Normally when it does rain here, it absolutely chucks it down all day, so everywhere floods, then its hot and sunny for ages afterwards...its all or nothing! Maybe if we could just have a quick shower once a week?? This is going to sound weird, but since moving here, I actually miss riding in the rain  lol! I've got a rain sheet that I've owned for 2 years, and has only got wet once! Stupid weather

Rowenna...I'll do you a straight swap...a weeks sunshine for, say...a week of showers (spread out over several weeks though, not all at once like usual please :D). Fair??

Great answer, really brightened my (wet, windy, grey) afternoon.

This is all very well, but once again you are hugging all the sun up there, we want some! NOW !!!

I have sent out find and snatch parties out to Perth, but don't have much hope they are notoriously snobby and dont like sharing with us Eastern states (or is it the other way round...).

B-84 'showers' sent your way.

MrsM steel thy sinews and have a 'drop of Nelsons blood' should help you find France and beat the ... erm ... probably best not to quote Shakespears Henry V here ;)

I'm going to bed now to the sound of relentless rain and want to wake up to the sound of SUN.
If I don't I will be most displeased! :humph:

Maybe you haven't heard Felicity but we're not allowed to be horrid to the French 'cos we're both broke and have to share the last aircraft carrier and our armies are the best of chums. It makes things a bit awkward tho' as they drive on the wrong side of the road!

scotch mist isn't english. but I'm sure we could spare some thin, watery shafts of sunlight.

I wonder if they'll have to move the steering wheel over....:rolleyes::confused::eek::D:D

You can have this to compound your woes, because I jolly well don't want it, waaaaaaaaaaaaay too early for this yet.

Did you enjoy your bike ride?

Lolli, Oh Lord! Hippo heaven! Snow is better than rain and mud anyday, it is too warm right now though, so this will just do the British thing and turn to slush and I'll have mud until the temps drop enough to freeze it.

Oh, I'm in Ontario by the way. I'm used to snow, I even like the snow, but not yet!
