Dear the woman at Solihull Riding Club tonight....

"Did you mean that to sound as rude as it did?" is a lovely line to trot out :D[/QUOTE]

Also going into my repertoire for witty retorts - nice to build up a collection as I can never find the right thing to say sometimes.

Love the kennel comment!

I understand your frustration. So many people comment from the sidelines not knowing horse or rider and what they've achieved or overcome to get to that day at that show. You NEVER know who is standing beside you at a show!

I find it funniest when you ride a remedial project and a well behaved one in the same dressage comp. I've had comments on the first equating to 'learn to ride' and then on the second praising my riding to the heavens! The only difference being I've had the second one longer - she didn't come ready made either!

People who feel the need to criticise others do it to make themselves feel better about their own shortcomings. Enjoy your horse and do your best by them, they're the ones who count, not small-minded, opinionated, bullies!

Just popped into the tack room to see the title and thought it looked familiar...

A whole year and this has been bumped up! Blimey!!

FWIW, horse and I rarely jump these days, neither of us seem to enjoy it much as we have very different styles. We do the odd combined training and some XC jumps on chaser courses etc but that's it. Bit of dressage here and there and mainly hacking as she's 19 now so getting on with her years...

Dont they say the best jockeys are those that sit on the grand stands,p half of them have never even put a leg on a horse. If she PM you make sure you give her a piece of your half pennys worth.
