'Death Knell for hunting ban' - police to stop monitoring

The ban will always be a part of the fabric of the British countryside. Let us not forget that it was voted one of Britain's top ten icons!!!
 
Perhaps now they might be able to find the time to solving some proper rural crimes - like one of my client's whose farm has been burgled so many times that he has given up reporting it, the livestock rustling and the deer poaching.

There was great excitement when it was rumoured that a police officer had been spotted in a Fenland village, turned out just to be a lad on his way to a fancy dress party!

Wonder how brave these dung eating hunt monitors are going to be now that they are out there all by themselves? LOL

Yes but the worrying thing is that the police have said they will pass on the responsibility for policing hunts to the hunt monitors and will rely on their evidence of wrong doing.

Yes, well I think Elliot Morley is going to be looking for a new job soon, so maybe he will use up time in between filling in job application forms as a monitor. Hmmm, I hope the other monitors will have the sense not to put him in charge of handing out their wages.

Perhaps the police will stop investigating lots of crimes now that the chiefs of police are deciding what laws made by a democratic parliament are worth bothering with. Some of you are so wrapped up with your bloodsport you actually believe this 'suggestion', is okay?! lol lol lol
 
Of course it is ok. I have always kept the local police informed that I am breaking the Hunting Act. I have written to my chief constable informing him where and when I will be chasing deer with dogs.

The police have just as much as a right to refuse to enforce absurd laws as people have a right to break them.
 
The law is no left to the monitors to enforce and it is up to them to decide when and where it will be enforced. Anomalies such as that pointed out by Hebegebe are irrelevant because no monitor is going to take any notice of people failing to shoot flushed deer.
