Have ridden the last three mornings (at six a.m.!) and she's gone from Cow On a Hot Tin Roof to almost listening half the time, so not so bad
smile.gif

But, yesterday when I turned her out, I thought she looked just a bit stiff on the off hind

Bear in mind that she does have the rear suspensory damage (as secondary from the pelvis issue): now it should be okay, according to the vets, but the ground is so soft at the moment. She's not shod so I can't go on the roads (because she gets very footy).

I'm concerned that the ground will aggravate the SLs

It's not desperate that she be ridden today, it'll just make Monday morning that bit more interesting

. But, I feel like I'm wimping out of riding her - is it fear of going flying (I don't feel as secure on her as I used to) or is it being a sensible human...?

I'm answering myself here

Is fine says vet
cool.gif
. So long as not working hard or fast in deep/soft ground. Also said, when the Dizz is fit, I should be able to hunt and go cross-country (so long as she keeps up this level of appearing to be happy)

See? Go out and get on already!

How quickly does she get footy on the roads? I gather a bit of roadwork is good for unshod horses to help them toughen up...but could it be tough on the ligament?

she could just have been stiff from work again? like we would if we went to the gym 3 days in a row

I know I walk my horse for 10 minutes (or less if we get OMG syndrome

) and then start work, so he is properly loosened up

great news on the hunting!

SP - it's the stones: she stands on them and almost stumbles
frown.gif
She's alright shod though. Farrier says her feet aren't bad, a little shallow maybe.

OM - you could be right

We aim to only walk at the moment anyway, but given her numptiness we tend to spend the first fifteen minutes going sideways/backwards/piaffing and generally prating about

Will work harder on the keeping it chilled
grin.gif

Maybe some hoof boots on the fronts will let you get out onto the road? If you really feel like doing travers along the road...

Is it a chilly day where you are? It's so cold and wet here you'd think it would be easy to keep things chilled, but quite the opposite...

SP - that is a good plan. I've debated getting some anyway as she loons about and pulls shoes off anyway. My horse is a numpty and I love her
grin.gif

It is very wet here
frown.gif
Even had to put the heating on! Have not made it outside - cold is threatening to take over (they tend to come on very quickly).

Meant to be going to a show tomorrow, but given the weather...

It's cack. Planning to right The Big One tonight,,, praying for the rain to ease as I. Am. Determined. |To. Ride. MrsM - If I remember right yr v. near me :-) so if I see someone riding passed me backwards, and you see what you think is a bullock being ridden... wave :-)

Lol, if we see each other - forwards, backwards, or bullock sized, then we're in trouble rofl

I'm thinking of turning the backwards thing into an art form
grin.gif

Bullock riding sounds fun

(was closest I coudl find to a bullock lol).

Roflao - I wish I had pictures of her Doing Her Thing. I'll have to get hubby to take his camera up when we have a lesson - three's bound to be a backwards session in it (even if the instructor doesn't have it in her lesson plan lol).

And you watch it, those lead ropes are scary things!

It was disgustingly wet here this morning, but now it's nice...of course the lesson was at 9am. Got yelled at lots, for, wait for it, the spooky pony going backwards.

He's usually more of a sideways kind of man, but these were supposed to be turns about the forehand, so sideways would have been good.
