Well I am so so pleased with my little Haflinger pony that I wanted to share on here.
We have been competing at prelim level for the past 2-3 yrs and this weekend we took a step up and did our first 'proper' Novice test (I say proper as I have done online dressage at Novice and also a fun show at Novice).
It was at an unaffiliated competition but a pretty good venue - Wellington Equestrian and we got 62.5% and came 8th out of 13 competitors.
So so pleased as I thought we might feel a little out of place but she warmed up amazingly well and we really held our own 😀
She tensed up a little in the test but it was held in the small dark indoor and she is often spooky in that environment but all in all I am so proud of her.
She is a 14.1hh Haflinger and we do have ongoing goals and plans and it was great to be able to take the next step.
The plan for now is to continue on our unaffiliated journey until we can hold our own at Elementary and see about affiliating. I have done and will continue to do the odd affiliated prelim for the experience of the venues and for the benefit of the judges comments but will of course stop doing prelim when we step up to Elementary.
