Not sure how interested anyone will be in this - but I am ECSTATIC and so proud so I am going to tell you all about it anyway!! My kids go to the large local comp which did not have an Equestrian team. So I set one up at Christmas. I am on a training yard and my YO agreed to be the team coach. She has worked hard with all the kids since Christmas and we had our first county qualifier yesterday. Only 5 riders available for selection! And those 5 rode 11 rounds in every class up to 100cm. 9 rounds were clear and the other 2 just had 4 faults.

We only had a team of 3 riders so all rounds had to count - could not drop a round as the best 3 (of 4) count. All 3 riders rode fast clears in the team competition and we were 2nd in the county missing qualification to the finals by 1 place. So so close and way above expectations! We really were just there for experience!!!!

Honestly there were huge beautiful boxes arriving from boarding schools etc with team colours, matching show rugs etc. Then there was our motley crew! But it's the riding that counts and they rode so, so well.

Onwards and upwards for this little team.....

Here is Mighty Max giving the 2nd element of the double plenty of space LOL. I can post a vid of the round if anyone is interested but not sure how....

Love this!! Well done for setting up the team and getting them all there, as well as on the great result! Do you have more competitions planned?

Fab, videos are easiest with youtube then you embed them here the same as with photos just with [video] tags instead

Fantastic, very well done, it is so lovely to hear that all their hard work paid off and sounds like they all had a great time as well :-) look forward to hearing about more outings !

Huge well done! I set up my schools team when I was in 6th form. It's a fairly rural area but the competitions still only pulled from the private schools (one being known as an equestrian boarding school). I just loved encouraging the younger girls to give some different competitions a go. Plus everyone was just so friendly as I didn't go down the route of picking teams...we ended up with about 5 teams in one event :D

Its great to see it becoming more popular in 'normal schools'. Even though my headteacher scoffed at the idea and thought it was only for posh people...soon eating his words and praising the 'farmers daughters' for getting to national comps :D (not me I may add...!)
