Following a recent fall (And a really old body protector), I feel that I should replace the body protector I was wearing. I've seem one in Decathlon that doesn't look too bad but it seems suspiciously cheap and I'm not 100% sure on it! I'm very fussy with BPs and will only wear ones with a zip up front which eliminates a lot on the market at the moment! Does anyone have a Decathlon body protector and how do they rate it? Or, does anyone have any recommendations for a good body protector that doesn't cost the earth with a zip front? :) I only ever wear it for XC so don't really want to spend TOO much. I plan to do a few BE80s this year but nothing more than that, a few hunter trials and a bit of XC (In terms of what I'll need it for anyway).

Thanks all! :)

This is what I was concerned about. They don't look like they have the purple level 3 stamp on the exterior like so many others do? I used to have a Racesafe one but I've had that since I was about 14 and I'm now 22 so really do need to buy a new one...

I have a decathlon one for my little girl as it was the only one which fitted her and she just walks and trots on LR. Not sure I would trust it for much more than low level stuff but it is nice and I would get one for pottering round.

I don't think they have the stamp either, and if your going to do BE they will check them wont they? I didn't even want a BP, but got railroaded into it by my OH and his dad, as i was in the process of getting my youngster going after backing. I only want mine for XC really but ended up with a Racesafe, i had to have mine made to measure and it was around £120.

I have the Decathlon one which I event with. I am in France but the regs are the same I think. I have had three falls with it and it has saved me from a nasty injury. I am just about to upgrade to either a point 2 or Hit-air to wear on top of it.

I have a Kan which I adore. Feels a lot heavier than most but really not noticeable once you're wearing it. I got lucky and found one in my size in the sales at our local tack shop for £60 but think they normally retail for under £200.
