Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can recommend somewhere in north london / south herts that is friendly and I can get a decent riding lesson?? I used to ride in north london as a kid, and for that there are plenty of opportunities, but finding somewhere with good tuition and reasonable horses to ride as an adult at more advanced levels is difficult! Surely there must be somewhere out there to rival Trent Park?! Where did all of the Patchetts clients relocate to?? I am mainly interested in dressage and if there is hacking too that would be great - jumping not so much of a priority.

Any ideas very much welcome :)

Not had a lesson at a RS for yonks. I don't know loads but there's South Medburn in the South Herts area. London Equestrian Centre Mill Hill isn't bad, I had a couple of lessons there. Frith Manor next door to that, a bit more basic if I recall correctly. Gillians in Enfield but not sure if that's still going.

If you're a capable rider/handler, you might prefer getting a share instead, depending on how often you want to ride. I wouldn't be surprised if the cost of a share works out the same/cheaper per ride than a RS.

South medburn was the worst, truly worst, riding school I have ever been to (the teaching and horses). On top of that, you have to pay a membership fee in addition to every riding lesson, which are expensive.
