Ok so I can count on one hand the amount of decent pics I have of myself & my mare as with the ones taken on our fujipix camera or on peoples camera phones always turn out blury as obviously horse is moving¬! So need something with a high shutter speed I think & something that picks up detail if that makes sence.? & want a compact camera that I can carry in my jacket pocket!! Any recomendations??? Oh & cant cost hundreds! :)

Weve got a a Panasonic Lumix & i love it, its got sports mode on it, weve upgraded to newer a models a few times, but its still a great little camera & wont break the bank

I'll second that. I have a Canon 600D SLR which is amazing but quite bulky so I have my Panasonic Lumix compact camera too. The modes are brilliant and it has a 16 x optical zoom.

I've also got the Lumix, and while it can't hold a candle to my Nikon 7000 DSLR, it is a very nice little camera. You can get the Lumix TZ18, with 16x Optical Zoom and 3" LCD, at Amazon UK, for £156.99. I paid well over £270 three years ago.

I paid £120 for my Lumix on Ebay :)

Be very careful purchasing cameras or lenses from ebay. Without going into a song and dance about my very bad experience, it's worth the extra few bucks to purchase from a vendor with excellent guarantees and return policies...that's why I suggested Amazon.

Oh just thought as well, make sure you get the one with the leica lens, we bought a lumix before & it didnt have the leica lens & it didnt seem as good, easy enough to see if it has as it usually has it printed on the bit round the lens (sorry not technical i know).

All the Lumix TZ cameras have the Leica lens. It is excellent.

Ahhh well no need to look then lol, it was a couple of years ago we bought ours, was really disappointed with it, thankfully it broke & we were able to change it for a better one :) Good old Currys no quibble insurance lol, if you do buy through Currys its well worth taking it out, im very accident prone with our cameras, ive had them trampled by horses, fallen on them & driven over them, & they have replaced it every time, the insurance last 3 years, i think we replaced our camera 4 times in that time.
