Decent Farrier in Edinburgh that can do remedial farriery work

Looking for a good farrier in Edinburgh capable of remedial farriery work to improve foot balance in one mare. We are not on a yard though which seems to be the sticking point for most

Can you travel? If you contact the vet school you might be able to either go their to use their farrier or they might come out.

sorry, don't know any Edinburgh farriers.

I used to use David Newall who is from Linlithgow way, not sure if he'd go out to Edinburgh? He was really good but unfortunately stopped covering my area (Stirling) so been struggling to find a good replacement.

Steve Newman is a new farrier from household cavalry. think he travels all over scotland and I've heard really good things about him.

Jim and/or Alan Ferrie travel to Edinburgh and I couldn't recommend then highly enough. Telephone 01560323002. I don't think they go very often (like only every 6 wks) and you would prob have to take your mare to them somewhere they already go. Failing that, Alastair Duff would prob come to your yard (Farrier for Dick Vet). Good luck!

Was going to suggest Alastair Duff.
Used to use them about 20 years ago and they were by far the best farriers in the area then.

For reasons I won't go into here, I personally wouldn't use Alastair Duff. I'd recommend my own farrier (Mick Renson, also ex-Household Cavalry) but I don't think he travels as far east as Edinburgh. What about Rory Robb?
