Decent food for feet

:D:D my mares feet were quite brittle during a hot dry spell and i have found formula4 feet excellent, her feet are now in very good condition and even my farrier is impressed.....:D:D:D

also heard that formula for feet is good. would make sure that he is getting all his nutrients in his diet as well as splashing out on expensive supplements (love pink powder myself). Naff hoofmoist is really good too - moisturising rather than oily.

I've got my boy on black sunflower seeds on recommendation of Theresa_F, meant to be very good for their feet and coat. My boy is very shiny at the mo and his foot look good so something must be working :)

My mare has developed this problem too, have the farrier coming out this afternoon. Apparently kevin bacon is good, will tell you what my farrier recommends too - hopefully he is bringing something along today.

I've got mine on Formula4Feet as well as applying Kevin Bacon once a day on dry days. Can't decide if the F4F is worth it or not. He's been on it a year and feet have lasted longer than last year altho starting to crack up now. Asked farrier if it was worth keeping him on it or not and said to carry on so giving it a bit longer.

We used Farrier's Formula and Kevin Bacon on the advice of farrier and his feet definitely improved but when the formula ran out I just gave Biotin due to cost. I have noticed his feet aren't as good so I'm going back but I might try Formula 4 Feet as everyone's raving about it.

I've always been sceptical about these things but our tb was having a dreadful time with her feet last year, it felt like everytime she went out jumping she threw a shoe and her feet were falling apart.

We bought and still feed Formula 4 feet its pricey but it has worked wonders her feet have neverbeen so good as they are now.

Neither of my horses will touch Formula4Feet, even after giving them the same untouched meal for 3 days so they knew I meant it & they HAD to eat it. In the end I had to give in & feed them as they were starving but they wouldn't touch anything with it in!

Another vote for Kevin Bacon though, I use the daily moisturiser one with bay leaves (can't remember exact name) and my farrier really thinks it's working.

Farriers Formula comes highly recommended from my farrier, however, he does believe that unless you are going to keep your horse on feed/supplements long term/permanent it's probably not worth it as it will take a good few months until you really notice the benefits.
Kevin Bacon hoof dressing is good stuff tho to help improve the quality of the hoof.

Have to agree, my farrier said u wont notice much of a difference until feeding something 6months - 1 yr.

Mine has been on Farrier's Formula for 5 years now and his feet have improved beyond recognition. He still doesn't grow much foot, but what there is is rock-solid, unlike when he arrived! I also use Kevin Bacon's for the outside, as it were!
