Hi guys

i need a decent HW stable rug with at least 350gms of fill, need it in 6ft3 and needs to fill a chunky ISH, so far the only rug that fits him properly in a Pessoa one, really cheap brands are out as the fit is bad but we would like it as cheap as possible. any ideas and links would be great :D

I loved my rhino combo stable rug, it was really hardwearing and smart. Got it in Scats for £50 which surely must have been a mistake or it was in the sale early, but not complaining.

Premier Equine, Horseware (any type) or Weatherbeeta (if they fit). I tried Masta, Mark Todd (lovely rug but just didn't fit) and a couple of other properly cheapie type ones I can't remember, and nothing fit her like the Horseware and Weatherbeeta ones. Never tried Premier Equine, personally, but second-hand experience of using the rugs on friends' horses I ride / do tells me that they are lovely rugs.

I think the Weatherbeeta will probably be the cheapest of the three. The thing is with fit, they either fit your horse or they don't! My girl is a Rambo girl (darned expensive beast :p )

I'm loving the JHL rugs - tough and well made and not stupid money :)

AGree with this. I discovered JHL rugs last winter thanks to HHO and they are great. I have a 17hh IDx who takes a 6ft9/7ft rug and they fit him well - also stand up to his best attempts to wreck them!

I like Horseware Amigo for toughness too though the fit isn't as good on my horse as JHL, and I don't think the quality is what it was either.

Another vote for JHL, have just got mine a hw t/o and stable (bright red is going to clash nicely on my bright chestnut :D) to go with the 2 mw t/o that i already have. Great rugs have stood up to my horse's hippo tendencies and fit really well. Have found that they can come up a bit big, i got 6'6 which has plenty of room for a under rug if needed but isnt big on him if you know what i mean.

I would recommend the Horseware Rhino Stable Plus Heavy weight. It has an integrated neck and a toasty 370g fill. They usually retail for around the £100 mark though you can pick one up from www.trot2.com for only £89.95 with free delivery, they usually deliver the day after you order too.
