Decent saddle fitter in Somerset area?

Need a good saddle fitter in or around somerset... if you know how much they charge roughly that would be great too thanks

Nathaniel Underwood is the only person I trust but he is quite pricey

Julia Garrett was recommended to me - I only paid for the saddle, the fitting (including being taken away for alterations) was included in the price of the saddle. I don't know how much a fitting would be though.

I will second nathaniel I had him fit our 2 recently and was very very impressed with him. His assesment of the horses muscles and way of going was excellent and worth every penny. although both of ours are normal leisure horses neither are that easy to fit (in opposite ways!) Not cheap but worth every penny IMO.

I wouldnt use julia (who is much closer to me) for a number of reasons though I do know people who do and are happy.

Especially now as Sharon no longer works for her and Jenny is going it alone - without any experience/qualifications!

Chris Harper (Wadswick nr Bath) or Julia Garrett (Wedmore). Both reliable, reasonable, non-pushy and have a decent stock of new and used. Good luck!

Another vote for Julia Garrett at Garretts Saddlers. She really cares about making sure the saddle is right for the horse rather than just taking your money & pushing whatever she has in stock or is currently flavour of the month. On the flip side my experience of Equicraft was the opposite.

The dressage judge I was writing for said she has found an amazing saddler near Frome? She is Chef de Equippe for Junior dressage team and does a lot of dressage training. Cannot remember who she said it was but said she was very pleased having just moved to the area.

I have used Peter Lewis at Pointings for a few years now and think he is very good.

I'm afraid that I wouldn't touch Peter Lewis with a bargepole nor would quite a few others round here in Dorset. He was absolutely shocking.

When I was living down that way i used Chris Puddy. He's based in Markesbury and was happy to travel out to me (about 35 miles away)

Wouldn't touch JTS with a very long barge pole, personally didn't have great experience with equicraft (but the Welsh Cob was young then)
