Can anyone recommend a good waterproof turnout rug? Possibly a mid weight, cotton lined one.

I discovered my old WP rug leaks like a sivv today, despite being supposedly reproofed by the saddler.

Thanks.

I can recommend the Weatherbeeta Landa Freestyle Standard Neck Lite. Its about £50, i bought mine from Derby House last year.

I have it for both of mine and the weather here has been simply awful today and both horses came in from the field bone dry underneath their rugs.

Thanks, looked at both. Is the Wetherbeeta insulated / warm? I'm wondering if it could also be useful on cooler late autunm and early spring weather.

if you go for a medium weight one it will have 200gm fill, or a medium-lite has 100gm fill. Thats the weatherbeeta's anyway, the 'lightweights' dont have any insualtion at all.

I bought the 100 gm Weatherbeeta last year and it leaks appallingly. I took it back to the shop who sent it back to Weatherbeeta (at least, they said they did) and I was given it back as they said there was no problem. I am not happy. I can't use it in the wet weather at all.

I am a massive fan of the Weatherbeeta Landa Freestyle range. In fact I have three! They fit my big boys perfectly around the chest.

Yip another vote for weatherbeeta Landa rugs - be it the lightweight or the medium weight.
Iv never had any bothers with leaks in them - iv got both weights for both my neddies and they have been great rugs.
