Decided to loan out pony

I'm just saying this out loud really...

I THINK I've made a decision- after seening how hard Sid tried to be good yesterday but the moment the girls tensed up he tensed too - i'm going to open my eyes to the fact that Sid needs a rider he can trust to teach him to enjoy being ridden- it's all there and is trying so hard but terrified of getting it wrong.

So I'm going to advertise him for loan locally and vet any viewer thoroughly to find the right match. I'll look to get the girls an older pony that they can trust and enjoy themselves on.

I'm worried that if i try to carry on with Sid at this time then i'll end up with a worthless pony and 2 girls who have had their confidence knocked so many time they won't want to ride or worse hurt. The girls do everything with him, i barely have to touch him (girls are 4&5) and the 3 of them are best friends but when it gets to riding they are all too inexperienced.

I'm gutted but am so convinsed that Sid will be a great pony just not at this moment in time for my girls- they all need some one they can rely on, learn with and have fun x PHEW ((fans eyes))

Good luck, perhaps the Pony Club site is a good one to advertise on,you may be able to swap for a while so the pony can get more experience and so can the girls. Really hard decision but safety first and fun second for kids

you need to make the decision that feels right, i have to ask though, i assume your kids are on a lead rein, if not, I would think at their ages, that this would be the way to go, no matter how good the pony is, everyone can relax a bit then.
