I posted yesterday or the day before about a bit of an outburst from my boss that had upset me and was amazed at the response so firstly thank you all very very much!

I have thought long and hard and decided that he was going ok before his injury and there is nothing really to say he will revert back to his old horrible ways when he comes back into work really he might be fine!

I think i was all ready to get back on and start him again this week and with the vet saying another 2 months and these comments from my boss i ind of went to pieces a bit!!

I have decided to send him for schooling to a lady my boss is friends with and get her honest opinions on me and him then decide properly from there. I dont want to give up on him, he's my boy and i love him lots!!!

Sounds like a sensible approach to me.

I didnt reply to your last thread, but I read it and all the replies. I suppose I would just add that the one thing that concerned me more than the high jinx/difficult nature of your horse is the bit where you said you back off before he goes off on one. Not that this isnt sensible in many many ways, but it reminded me of a similar situation I had with a loopy ex racehorse I owned for 2 years a.

Basically as long as I stayed within his comfort zone things were OK - I could hack or school him in reasonable safety. I never actually fell off him, although nobody else would ride him on the yard and everyone told me to get rid of him. I was very limited as to what I could do - ie couldnt go on fun rides, go to parties of any sort, go on fast hacks with others. In the end I thought sod it and took him to a small show. Somewhere there is a photo of me on board looking miserable and hunched and frankly a little scared with said horse performing a few airs above the ground. It was that photo that made me sell him - I just thought how miserable I looked! I advertised him as 'very much not a novice ride'. A dealer came to try him and fell off 3 times. Told him to go away lol. A girl who used to work in a racing stable came to try him and bought him. She didnt give a stuff what he did and was an ideal owner for him

I moved on and bought a loopy chestnut mare so I didnt learn anything, but I loved her and enjoyed riding her and could go and have fun

Obviously the two situations are different, but all I'd say is dont rule out selling him if you end up feeling its the right thing to do

I was having a read of that thread last night when my computer went nuts!
I think that by the sounds of things you truly love this horse so i think your doing the right thing, giving him this chance to be schooled and get opinion from this lady, then you will have a better idea of where to go from their and like you say everything was probably just getting to you..best of luck hun :) x
