I am going to order a 3.5 over the next week and am totally torn between a Bloomfields and a Boss.
I probably sway marginally towards a Bloomfields but the wait does put me off.
Does anyone have either and have any strong reviews or even experience of both makes?
Thanks

I bought a Bloomfields and it was well worth the wait.

They move into their new factory soon, next week I think, so the waiting list should come down.

I loved the safety, the flexibility of what I wanted, the solid feel.

I had a boss from 2009 till last may when last horse went to new home..they hold price well..and are so well built and the after service is brilliant. Have you been to the factory in Flint NWales to look at the 3.5 ton models... ? I was lucky I live only 5 miles from them..and I had the first one off production line in 2009 ,
Loved my Boss lorry... we even slept overnight in it...horses travelled well, even one who was a bad traveller..

I have a boss xs and absolutely love it. It's so easy to go out on my own, really well thought out and so much storage. One of mine is a terrible traveller and I would only travel him in my box. He went over the breastbar and it collapsed, horse had a slight scrape and we simply put it back on the same day, no issues (he's now banned from travelling), but my youngster travels so well in it.

I would definitely go and look at the factory, they are so helpful and answer however many questions you have!

I haven't been to the factory as I'm not local, but have been to visit a local horse transporter who has one and was happy for me to have a good look around. Same goes for the Bloomsfield.
Have been lucky to be able to see quite a few makes this way..

I have a Boss XL, bought through another HHO member pretty much new. It's an amazing lorry and I am so so happy with it. I know Bloomfields have a great reputation so I doubt you will be unhappy with either. Things I do LOVE about my Boss are the ramp being on the driver side, it makes tacking up on board so much easier as everything is the right way around!? We have had her around a year and a half now and I still love using her and going places, she's very pretty too! Me and a friend had three nights in camp in it last year very comfortably, despite having a bed in the cab we used the horse area. Slid partion over, took breast ar down and had a changing area and a designated prosecco bar/locker! If you're local you're welcome to have a nose.

Also, I'm sure you have thought of this anyway but if the ones you have viewed have all been for transport companies the setups can be quite different. I know a lot of the transport boxes have the stallion set up, which is fine but might not be what you want/need if it's just your one horse that you travel. Might save some cost and weight maybe?
