hello,
i am hoping to loan a horse on a yard in my area. however, there are people on the yard from my old school and would possibly feel out of my depth in riding there. this may jeopardise the part loan of the horse because i may feel inferior.
this may sound petty but i want to work with the horse and also have fun.
(if this makes sense and anyone gets me)

should i loan or not?

thanks.

Not on that yard if you don't trust those people not to make you feel uncomfortable. Livery yards can be really mean places, and if you start feeling awkward before you have even sat on the horse, it doesn't bode well. It's not petty, your concerns are valid.

If the horse is the right one for you I would say yes. There is nastyness in almost every yard, but at the same time there are always nice people. Make friends with the nice people, ignore the nasty ones (completely! don't even talk to them), enjoy the horse!

If the horse was absolutley the right one then I would probably do it but I think that you would be alot better off if you could find a horse at a different yard as it does not sound like it would be a fun situation for you to be in.
