Decisions - getting back into it/confidence etc

Ok, now that I've been told I can ride I want to get back into it soon.

My best mate's offered to take me out hacking where she works but will be riding something a.) too small for me (got nothing over 14.2) and b.) something i dont know.

Now obviously, riding with best mate for free - sounds good, but because I lost all my confidence last summer, I'm a bit apprehensive of riding anything at the mo (I want to ride, just nervous) so was thinking that a nice pootle with instructor (also means can catch up on gossip

) up at yard would be better - as will know the horses that I fit on & the hacking like back of my hand so more relaxed and more chilled - ideal for someone getting back into it after 8 months or so.

Won't be cheap but am thinking will be worth it purely for my level of confidence - if that makes sense

Go with what you feel most comfortable with, that way its more likely to work

I would definatly stick with your instructor and horses you know to begin with, then see how you feel, and maybe take your friend up on her offer later on

Confidence is priceless - well worth paying out a bit more to feel good I think.

I would say go with the stables you know and trust, and go for a few hacks there to get your confidence up and then consider going out with your friend.
Yes it will be more expensive but if you lost confidence last summer and haven't ridden for a while then do what you feel most comfortable with.
