Our little home bred western foal is 5 1/2 months old, halter broken, good with his feet and brilliant to catch. Due to unforseen circumstances we are going to have to offer him for sale. I am in no rush to sell him so it really is a case of when the right person comes along, and if we don't sell him, it's not an issue.

What I am wondering is whether I should geld him now or leave him entire? He's just started to feel his hormones, he can go in with a little gelding we have if he stays whole or he can have the snip now and stay with mum until he is weaned properly (she goes out and leaves him behind and vice versa already), so it's not an issue either way for me. What would you do?

Thanks for confirming what I was thinking of doing anyway! It was just a couple of 'helpful' people putting doubt in my mind! We shall say bye bye furry plums lol!
