Anyone know if theyve made a decision yet? are they having a course inspection tomorrow?

I could really do with knowing........

Well I remember a time not long ago ( my brain escapes me, it might have been last year?) when Mattingley was cancelled and there was far far less rain than there has been now.

I'm in Hampshire (40 mins from Mattingley) and its been torrential rain all week except yesterday which was hot. More rain forecast every day for the rest of the week...

Ben and Jerrys lives next door to Matts I think- she would prob know more about the weather/ground in that area!
 
2002 was the first year i competed there. They were pulling us in and out. Lorry park and xc was bottomless.
Last year they ran Novice and PN but canceled sunday due to lorry park.
Methinks they may run friday but cancel rest of the weekend. TBH i would rather they just canceled the whole weekend.
Im worrying about travelling down there anyway.
 
i live about 10-15 mins from mattingley, yesterday we had no rain, nice sunny day, today started off nice, but have had showers most of the afternoon, but honestly i think are area has got off lightly with the bad weather. have my fingers crossed for all of you.
 
Hmmm ... we aren't as badly hit as some but todays rain seems to have tipped the balance for our land, it was holding up well but today has suddenly gone worse.
I'm doubtful it will run.
 
I wish they could make the decision sooner-this is purely selfish as I know they don't want to cancel, but surely waiting until the last second won't make a difference now-its either too wet by now or not.
I'm competing tomorrow and would like to know if cancelled so I don't spend all afternoon getting two horses ready only to be told at 6pm tonight that its all off. I'm sorry, but just don't have the time to waste!
 
I agree Paris.
I will be walking the course later, its a good hours drive for me as it is and not on the best of roads.

Horse is now ridden and tack all clean. But i will be bathing and plaiting the monster later but would rather not if i dont have to lol

Fingers x it runs, but if ground is too wet, i will withdraw.
 
How do we know there is a course inspection today - cant find details of that on any websites? I live in guildford and to be honest the ground isnt that bad, but like everyone else i need to know now !
 
oooo you can report back to us BB's what the ground is like if they do run.

I so hope they do apparently Hampshire hasnt been that badly hit by the rain - its so hard to believe as it hasnt rained here all week and the ground is hard again here!!

HJ said there was a course inspection. Ive not seen any details tho.

Ground at home isnt bad either, and Oxfordshire was badly hit as you all know.
I would run if its like it is in my field.
But Im sure they are going to have serious problems in the lorry park as per usual.

Just had an email from Ann saying Friday might not run ! - had emailed her asking if I can give her my entry for brockenhurst!

OK, this is what it says on the LM page:

"Based on the current forcast, there is a reasonable probability that Friday won't run and Saturday & Sunday will run. A decision on Friday will be made at 1700 today.There is no room on Saturday or Sunday for any more competitors"

How annoying for Friday competitors I think its because it is going to be torrential tomorrow, when will they let people know about Sunday though! I havent even bothered going through my test or anything as yet!!

Wont bother cleaning my tack till late sat night I think just incase!!!
 
Yes I spose there is at least one section with day b4 dressage.

I wouldnt have thought they will let anyone on the grounds but seems a bit unfair

Excellent! Are you in that? wonder if anyone on here is.

Fingers crossed for the rest of the weekend - looks to be quite certain Friday wont run which is annoying especially for BB's.

Actually I think Hattikins is in day before dressage in the PN she will be pleased

Yes i am - but havent learnt my dressage test or ridden my horse this week ! - dont jump on me - someone else has and I will ride tonight!
So its panic stations now !
Im there saturday and sunday aswell - so say hi !

I have prepared quite a bit jumping wise as ive only had her about 3 weeks!

So been XC twice and she has only ever been twice!

So going again tomorrow afternoon.

But I havent learnt my test or gone through it at all either, I will do that sat when I know Sun is def running!
