The midges and flying things are out in force on the sunny days already so thought I should get organised. I have previously used decosect and found it worked well, I like the not having to apply every morning. Tried to order it and I can't find the small bottles anywhere and the big bottles are expensive!
Are there any other long lasting alternatives?

Just remember to patch test.

Mine was spectacularly allergic. Luckily we’d only done an a5/a4 sized bit on his shoulder. After 20 min it was swollen, red and clearly painful, he was dropping and rolling in his stable.

This!

One of mine reacted like I'd poured acid over him. It was so violent I was unable to wash him off or do anything much about it, It was pretty awful.
You could try one of the spot on type treatments perhaps.
