Does anyone have any advice on Dectomax injections or similar / generic brands that may be cheaper or if there is a topical version as my boy may be getting mites (again - same time last year) and I will do anything to avoid losing his feathers (again). Having a dectomax injection on Monday but sooo expensive. Thanks.

My vet prescribes frontline dog spray - 2 applications a week apart (40 quid a bottle for 2 apps), you do not need to clip feathers either, just make sure fronline gets to skin. The vet prefers Dectomax, but my ned doesnt do needles!

ah thats interesting, ive got frontline drop stuff in the house for my dog, wonder if i can wack some of that on today just til monday to help? ive done the pig oil / sulphur powder thing too!!! thanks

Never used the injections as I have always had excellent results from frontline used every 10 days for a month and then P&S - with P&S you have to use P&S all year, especially in the autumn and winter months. You can get away with just sulphur in the summer but you still must apply this every couple of weeks to create an environment that keeps mites off them.

Global herbs do a wash for hairy legs, not used it as don't need to but it looks like powerful stuff.

Where are you going to get EXPENSIVE Dectomax injections? My boy has had two injections, two weeks apart, that have completely cleared his mite problems. Each injection cost me £21. A large can of Frontline costs more than £40, and you need more than one can to clear the problem!!!
