Rosie and her parents are going up to Gt Witchingham on Friday with 3 horses. The weather forecast is foul, the journey will probably take them 2.5 to 3 hours and they will - obviously - want to walk the XC course before they start. First dressage is at 8.18am and they are planning to leave the yard at 4am latest. On Saturday, Rosie has some (not sure how many at this stage) rides at High Easter p2p. Do you think they're mad? I think I do but actually really admire their determination.
 
You only live once! I think it's brilliant she has such supportive parents (and they don't seem the pushy ones, seems like she has to earn her being driven round!). Take it you're not offering to be film-crew for that dressage at Gt Witch then?!
 
Thats eventing for you I think! I had 2 to ride at Poplar last March and was up at 3am

Oh no - I'm much too old and sensible to get up that early (lol) and yes, she does have to work for her living. Will probably make the effort to go to the p2p though as it's only half an hour away from me.
 
Wow that really is dedication!!
I think I am fairly dedicated, I travel for 3 hours (1 hour 30 mins each way) to get to my stables, which includes an hour of cycling

Hope she does well and that all that travelling is worth it!
 
I shall be leaving about the same time, it's something all us eventers put up with!

Last year for PC Areas I had to get up a 3am to be at Burnham Market for a 6.30am course walk.

I wonder if Gt Witch will cancel, the forecast atm is dangerously bad.

Hadn't thought about possibility of cancellation but it's not forecast to be freezing - just foul - strong north wind and rain - so I don't really see why they would. If they do, I hope they tell you all in plenty of time. Thanks for good luck wishes fatarse2 (seems twice as impolite as just fatarse, so apologies) will pass them on.

Oh great, hopefully I'll find out before I set off at early o'clock Friday. I've got a two hour journey and two different courses to walk.

My worry is getting back home again, we have snow forecast here according to metchek and i live up a big hill.

Nicky if you PM me your number a friend is stabling there on Thurs night so hopefully I'll get some inside info.
