So… Delicia is coming on leaps and bounds, without the leaping and bounding though (thankfully!). She has been on the new Pure Feeds horse feed for a week now and I have to say, she is so calm. She is completely off her Saracens Re-leve and almost off her Alfabeet. So far I am very impressed. She loves the feed and is a lot calmer in herself, both on the ground and ridden. So big thumbs up there.
Anyway, Delicia decided to have a growing spurt and consequently her martingale no longer fitted. A friend on Facebook kindly offered to sell me her old horses martingale for a very reasonable price. I have been trying to make more horsey friends around here, and I thought it would be great to meet a fellow HHO’er, and shop at the same time.
So, today I overslept -.- I’m still full of virus and am sleeping very heavy, so I was late to our pre-arranged time, great! Nevertheless, F was lovely and we had a good chat and some coffee before she met le beast! Dee greeted her with ears make and a sullen look
, she’s a little hormonal around her food and there was a haynet nearby, however, Dee didn’t really mean it and soon they were having cuddles.
We fitted the martingale and I was relieved it fitted, some of the prices of tack out there at the moment is shocking :O!!!
I wanted to have a test run, so I tacked up dee and F kindly offered to photograph us. There was a show on down the yard, it was very windy, and there were some very naughty ponies there. However, dee (although a little on edge) worked really well. I got some lovely work from her and she is getting stronger and actively seeking the rein and stretching into the contact. I am going to start working her rounder now as I have got her to stop curling behind the contact. I am so excited with how well dee is coming along, my leg is really giving me jip at the moment and dee has used it as a bit of an excuse not to accept it quickly when its on her side, but she is slowly coming around to my way of thinking.
So, who wants piccis?
Here is a selction, hopefully I’ll have more later!
I am slowly straightening up. My back is healing, but it takes time
muscles
I have a lesson tomorrow with another HHO’er, onwards and upwards!
