Hi
Can you advise me of a turnout rug that is particularly deep - around the girth / belly. Preferably a combo rug that comes in 7ft. My poor boy needs something to keep his tum warm
THANK YOU

Some of the Weatherbeetas have a belly wrap, so the tummy is covered. I have a Freestyle Taka Combo that is like that, but you do have to be careful with the fit of these rugs as they can be tight on the neck on some horses. Also, the Rambo rugs with three surcingles and leg arches are cut to meet under the belly.

Hi both my horses are a 7ft in rugs, and while manufacturers make them long enough, most arent deep enough!

The only rugs I find very deep for big horses are Masta's, followed by Premier Equine, Rambo and Rhino. I believe Shires are deep too but dont own any so cant comment personally.

Out of all my rugs my Masta's are the deepest though, and have plenty of shoulder room.

The Rhino I have is very shallow on my horse. Premier Equine are apparently very nice and deep, as should be the Rambo XL rugs as that's what they're made for!

Premiere Equine are the only rugs I have found to be deep enough on the bigger horse. I became a massive convert last year.

My friend has just had one delievered for her 18hh HW hunter - which is 7' 3" and looks super on him. Plenty of depth.

Fal are deeper than most I think. Certainly when i was looking for a deeper one for my mare they were about 4 inches deeper than most. I rang tack shops and asked them to measure the depth.

She has a Fal with the detachable neck cover and a rambo as a spare. The fal is deeper.

Hi,

I also recommend the Dress Circle rugs, but they come up really small. I bought an XL that was supposed to be 6'9" - 7' but it was no where near on my big warmblood, it actually fitted my weedy 16.1hh TB mare that takes a 6'6". She was very happy, my big fella is still cold!

See I've got the opposite problem - the XL hoodless is too big on my boy who is normally in a 6ft 9" or 7ft rug.

I have lots hanging out of the back!

The only major problem is washing them as my classic rug only just squeezed in the washing machine which means the XL hoodless is a hand wash job!! !
