i finally have to admit that my premier equine rugs just aren't as good as i always thought they were :(

so - in prep for next winter i'd like to buy my horse a new wardrobe in the sales - but most rugs look like mini skirts on her - can anyone recommend good DEEP rugs? that is the one thing that PE had in their favour

Many thanks

shires ones are deep too. I got the 1680 denier 300g FN one really pleased with it.

Why are you not happy with your PE ones? I had a lot of them for my old horse, but only got one for this one

various things - i LOVE the elasticated neck , the fact it comes in 450gm, the depth...
but HATE - tiny tail flap = horse has grown back hair on derrier noticibly more this year and under rugs also get wet, leaks along seams :( 40gm also leaks accross bum, velcro gone - lots of niggles

also used to come up generous - 6'9 used to fit her perfectly - so ordered same size and its tight on her - but the snow camed and i just had to use it - annoying - so becuase of niggles i'm not sure i want to fork out more for a 7' version,,,,,

I have a full wardrobe of Amigo for my boy. With the front leg arches, I find they cover more of his front legs and they tuck in lovely underneath. Fred is a pure arab. My friend's got a ISH and they fit him lovely too!

Interesting. i found my old ones leaked along the seam but it was after about 3 years and I had never had them reproofed
my shires one also has a huge tail flap

No one seems to make them like they used to, I had Rambo that leaked, sent it back, and the replacement leaked:eek::mad:
haven't had any problems with new PE MW

I find masta rugs are deep and big at the shoulders. But i am a massive fan of weatherbeeta i personally think they are the best. I always buy my horses rugs a size to big and just ajust them up and i find if i wrap the leg straps around themselves twice then my rugs just simply never slip he is properly a size 6ft 3 - 6ft 6 but i tend to buy 6ft 9 and never have a problem with slipping or anything :)

The original FAL rugs are lovely and deep, but like hens teeth to get hold of these days unfortunately. The new ones are okay but nowhere near the same quality or design.
