Define 'collected trot'

So, I am attempting my first Elementary Test in just over a week and we have collected trot in the movements. Now, I just want to know what the judge expects in this movement (and how collected is considered collected?) My boy is working well in Passage at home, so obviously they won't want to see this degree of collection?) Also, is it ok if I ride my collected trot in sitting trot, but rise during the working trot and medium trot? It is only an Unaffiliated Test at a local Venue so only low key.

I would not over think the collected trot at Elementary level as I see too many riders doing this and they end up with small shuffly trots. The important aspect of collection is the forward energy.

Yes to ride collection in sitting and then rise for mediums etc.

I have been told by a GP rider that, at that level, collection simply means your horse can do the movements being asked. My friend has completed in a few affiliated Elementary tests, and her 'collected' movements have been marked quite well!

Yes to sitting and rising different trots.
