...anybody live near there or have been with dogs? It's about 1hr 15 each way for me to drive there, is it worth it for a day's outing?

Still trying to scout out potential biking/scootering spots and that seems the nearest with a decent trail, I know they hold rallies on it occasionally so it must be suitable?

Rather bored of doing the same there-and-back strip of bridleway near us and am hoping to have a scooter shortly after Christmas, need a flat smooth area to practice on. :p Looks like I'll be asking for a bike rack as my other big gift as we're kind of stuck here at the moment.

I live right around the corner from there. It is lovely. Loads of tracks to follow. Couple of pubs for lunch locally and a Go Ape if you are that way inclined. You can ride horses around there too. Not sure if you can take scooters on it though, you'd have to google it to check.

Do you know if they are blue-arrowed bridleways or is it a permissive right of way for horses, mattilda? Can take a scooter, rig or bike on a bridleway for definite. :) Looking at the website they have dedicated cycle tracks anyway, I can plead ignorance if I end up on the wrong path!

CC, you iz mental. I may well be mental too, given that I'll be planning to go in mid January.

Seminar reminds me, we have a recall workshop next Saturday, big group situation. Already dithering about whether it's too soon and going to blow her head. :o

Not sure BC. It is part of the Delamere Loop which is signposted by blue signs (?). Long ride which takes in lots of different places. It does include my part of the world which I know is a bridle way.

£3 for parking pffff I remember when it was £1

Delamere has different routes of different lenghts and the delamere loop is 22 miles long in total.

but it's really lovely and not bad food on the large car park

Yep - I tend to take my horse there - we go along White gate way for a good long canter - but Delemere loop you can walk for miles.

That's nothing, National Trust car park near here is £4.50.

Can I ask you all how hilly it is? Are any of the trails particularly flat and smooth? Probably not an issue with a team of dogs but with just one it's best to avoid hills!

it has up and downs, but i would not consider it hilly

Ah, silly me forgot to check Youtube for videos, plenty of people racing and biking. Surface looks excellent! :)

There's a night rally being held just next week but the videos look terrifying, think I'll give that one a miss...
