Went to gracelands today, took the baby horse up first for the 2ft and the 2ft3, she went double clear in both (but slowly as she isn't balanced enough to canter all the way round yet

) so really pleased.

Took her home and swapped her over for Tara for the area dengie 2nd rounds. Was quite busy- 60 people in it, all on little speedy ponies

The course was quite small really, but there was one fence which was coming down a lot- a gate on flat cups coming off the corner. I knew it would be sods law that Tara would have one down, being as it was only 3ft

But I needn't have worried, she flew round clear

Waited for the drawn jump off- I was 4th out of only 18. The second girl in went "really fast", and she was on a little nippy 13.2hh so I thought I had no chance

It was a full up 3"6ft jump off, number 1 being the triple bar. I decided to really go for it, so off we went, and omg I couldn't stop her

She FLEW, WOWW, and we did some absalutely amazing turns that nobody else pulled off throughout the class- put me into the lead by about 3 seconds

Everybody was really amazed, loads of people from my pony club where there and where like
shocked.gif
wow!

And I kept my 1st spot throughout the next 14 people and won by an easy 3 seconds! I am sooo chuffed, she really really flew, I cant believe I won the dengie second rounds against loads of nippy ponies

Then I took her in the 1.10m open dengie class, and she was really really sharp and strong, and she jumped number 4 really big so I lost my stirrup and had to jump a double with one stirrup and she had the second part down

but finished on a respectable 4 faults with only 2 clears so am still pleased

Oh and look at what i won

Well done, winning a dengie second round is fantastic. My daughter didn't manage to qualify this year, we kept meaning to go to some qualifiers, but kept putting it off and then two qualifiers were cancelled in Feb and that was our last chance! Went last year though and know what you mean about zippy little ponies galloping round.

Good luck when you go to Stoneleigh!

Thanks!
Erm, don't expect much of us out eventing, our dressage still isn't quite up to scratch

Cant wait to do some events on her though, I am seriously missing xcountry

I have always loved your horse, she is so much like our pony who is now 27 and retired. What a shame you can't make the champs but I bet everyone else will be pleased .
Well done

Thanks!
Me and her are so well suited that I don't think I am ever going to be able to sell her!
Looks like she is gonna stay with us forever
smile.gif

Thank you everybody- still can't believe how good she is
grin.gif

Top 4 qualify so doesn't get handed down, but we spoke to the girl who came 5th, and we are going to do some phoning around and see if she can take my place

Well done you

.
My daughter qualified then went on to come 3rd in the final a couple of years ago and I still have her piccy on the wall with Princess Anne presenting her with her prizes . . ahh bless (shame she's now a moody teenager

).

Very good luck at the finals to all of you that have qualified . . it's a lovely weekend so have fun

Tara,
Many congratulations, you did really well, very quick round!!
You can't hand down to fifth place as my daughter came fifth on the little chestnut mare and she has already qualified as the top 5 qualified because there was nearly 60 in the class.
Its a shame you are away, you would have done well.
Have a good time.
