Sunday was the preliminary round for the pc dengie dressage series.
Last year i did it and somehow got to the champs, and missed out on ride off by collectives

Entered for Novice and Open

Novice
Amber was a complete angel, she went sooo nicely. I really enjoyed it
laugh.gif
we had a bit of a mistake when we were supposed to be walking but she wanted to canter (she thinks she knows the test)
wink.gif
silly girl. but overall it felt nice.
scored 71.1% and finished 2nd

so this meant i had definately qualified for one area round.
Was a bit of confusion because ur not allowed to qualifiy for both open and novice areas

Open
Test wasn't as nice. Amber was a bit tense and hurried. Messed up one of the canter trot trans as she struck off on other leg as soon as we trotted

walk wasn't good either.
So definately wasn't expecting anything as she was throwing marks away! every other horse looked amazing as well

scored 67.4% and finished 2nd

one mark from 1st!
so now i had to decided open or novice

I decided to qualify for open as it will be interesting

we bought a lovely photo as they were all AMAZING

Thanks for reading

Well done....

Was this your Area or First round?

I think you should have got the qualification for both classes and not just the one.

Its the second round where if you qualified in both Open and Novice you have to then pick on the day which you will go for.

[ QUOTE ]
Horses and/or riders who qualify for both the Novice
and Open Winter League Championships in the same year
must nominate which class they wish to compete in on the
day they qualify so that the qualification can be passed
down the line.

it was the preliminary round

so i qualify for areas

they had that argument, it was very confusing, but somebody who seemed to think they knew what they were talking about said i could only qualify for one ??

thanks

xx

Hi

I would look into it cus I think you should get both.... Check with HQ if I was you.

We were at the Finals last year and got into the ride off..... in the other section to you

I have just looked at times for the Dengie 2nd Round at the weekend and there are quite a few who are entered in both the open & novice sections. I know that other people qualified for both but had to choose one at the preliminary rounds but some people obviously didn't have to - not a very level playing field. From your response it seems like PC HQ said you had to choose at Preliminary Rounds not Area Qualifiers.
