So this afternoon/evening my pony had an episode of choke. Luckily I have seen and dealt with many horses and ponies who have had choke, however it all seems so much scarier when it's your own! After 45 mins of massaging his neck etc the blockage managed to dislodge itself. I have recently changed him onto Dengie-healthy hooves. He is now the 4th pony I have seen choke whilst eating this. I was dubious about putting him onto it in the first place due to the number I'd seen choke, but I'd put it down to one being an oldie with practically no teeth and the others being greedy guts. Has anybody else had the same problem or is this just a massive coincidence? His feed is very wet and sloppy (how he likes it, doesn't like it unless it's practically swimming).
Info: ponies teeth were done 2 months ago, never had an episode of choke before this, fit and well etc
