Dengie Warehouse Fire

Is anyone else having trouble getting hold of (decent and not affected produce) from Dengie? My local suppliers (I have tried 6 now) don't seem to have any Hi-Fi that isn't damaged, they say it is from a warehouse fire that Dengie had... Is anyone else affected and can anyone recommend a good alternative? I like to use HiFi Original, as the horses have to really chew (avoid gastric ulcers) and it has a lower MJ than many others (I don't want anything with Molases (sends my horse nuts). Can anyone help??? Please, I'm desperate down the last sack and have 4 mouths to feed....

I hadn't heard anything about it until your post. I bought some Dengie good doer this afternoon and my supplier had lots of all the different makes in stock.

Where abouts in the country are you?

Essex, Near Braintree. Yes, I was only told when my delivery arrived earlier in the week, I opened the first sack and it smelt funny, so I opened the others and they all looked dull and smelt funny, I rang my supplier and they said they had, had some returns which were smoke damaged, so obviously I sent that lot back and, had another delivery and same thing, since then I have been on a mission to find decent produce - CHECK YOUR SACKS, they look fine on the outside but when you open them, you can smell and see the difference.

Ours down here seem to have everything but carrots which is understandable as not really the season, where abouts in the country are you? If youre willing to travel to cambridgeshire all the stockists have it i can give names of a few if you want?

Try Graze On Gold Blend, it's a grass/straw chaff with molasses extract (ie molassed in the same way as Hi-Fi).

It's made by the same people who do Megazorb, so if you have a place near you that sells that then they should be able to get you some in.

Alternatively, D&H do a nice chaff called Fibergy which is along the same lines but with mint and soya oil too.

If you are really struggling Simple Systems may have something that would work for you. Check their website as they will deliver direct - but as you have 4 to feed their 'bulk' buy requirement might suit you - and they definatley do molasses free.
