My daughter has entered to do this in November and is now panicking as to what to wear and turnout of pony etc! I assume he will have to be plaited up? will she have to wear a stock or would shirt and tie be ok and would chaps be ok or do you have to wear long boots (which she hasn't got!) ? it's her first go at it really and neither her or pony are very experienced but she's having a go (just hope all the others aren't all dressage diva's!!) Any advice would be great

If you look here Wiki for Horses there are some bits that may help you. Site is still being constructed but it does all work!

Main thing is that she is having a go, even ifthre are whatseem to be supa doopa dressage horss there, you often find that a good native or cob will beat alot of them, so if she does a nice center line to start and rides a positive test she will have a great time.

well i went to one last week- we didnt plait up and neither did many others, although a few did so either is fine. shirt and tie is also fine, i wore a stock but the younger competitors wore shirts and ties. chaps are fine too.

the competition is pretty tough at these things, but its the having go that counts!

Yes you should plait up, the last few competitions I've been to all horses were plaited. Chaps are fine and for young competitiors a shirt and tie is fine. I hope she enjoys her first dressage test and good luck - look forward to hearing how she got on.
