My new young horse is away being backed but is coming home tomorrow .He has been doing really well but we have noticed that he is hard in mouth on one rein. I had dentist booked but was ill and had to cancel so will rebook this week .After looking in his mouth this evening noticed he has two loose baby teeth and new ones growing through.
Will vet/dentist pull baby teeth and if so how long will he need to recover ?
Hes in week four off backing so bit inconvenient but decided to stop ridden work as he is obviously sore. Will restart when hes recovered :)
I normally have dentist rather than vet to previous horses but have been told this vet is qualified dentist and he will probably be able to sedate if needed. This is first time I have dealt with baby teeth so any info gratefully recd :D
We have lot of firsts in next two weeks farrier ,saddle fitter ,boosters ,dentist and microchip :( all for his own good

Most are just caps that will be flicked off, Horses are normally fine to continue working as normal. Without seeing them it's hard to judge but see what your vet/dentist says.
