Dentists - York area? (Also dentist or vet for routine work?)

Since you lovely people have already recommended a vet for the vetting and a transporter for the transporting I thought I'd pick your brains again. Bobby-Fell just needs his teeth doing before I start re-introducing the bridle. So any recommendations for dentists in the York area (or East Yorkshire, York side - Market Weighton / Beverley) are very much appreciated.

And another question, do you prefer to use a dentist or a vet for routine dental work?

Cheers

Sally Kingsley (see her website) is based in N.Yorks and travels widely. She is dual qualified (vet & EDT) but only practises as EDT. She can however sedate if necessary. So no need for trying to co-ordinate 2 professionals (and paying 2 call-out fees). She was recommended to us and we will certainly use her in future. She did a much better calmer, quieter job than the inexperienced vet who rasped the cob's tongue!

my dentist (Martin Brookes) has been telling me about a good dentist that isnt that far from you, Scarborough - supposed to be very good - Chris Napthine - hes been doing some training with Martin. You might want tto consider him as well

Paul Waudby. He has been to me today and done all 8 of mine, including removing 2 wolf teeth from my rising 3 year old. None were sedated (except for the removal of wolf teeth) and he only charges £40.00 per horse!!

Can't recommend him highly enough

I would unrecommend robert ruddy, he came to see my horse many years ago and I've never seen someone so terrified of a horse (sensible 15.3 TB - nothing scary!).

I have heard good things about Marcus Fasey, who I might try next time. My current dentist is a totally unqualified old jockey who is brilliant, esp with the horses but who I feel should retire!
