I have been having radiotherapy for bone cancer on my pelvis (broken and very painful) for the last two weeks and the pain is slowly decreasing along with slightly increased mobility.
However I went to see a new consultant today and after taking more x rays he has declared that my pelvis is only holding by a 'thread' in one place. He is reluctant to operate due to type of cancer. Therefore he has said no riding as a gentle fall could cause me to bleed out (nice!). I really wanted to get on my new boy for a 5 min sit soon, but know I have to be sensible. Hopefully my chemo and radiotherapy will help my bone to heal a bit so it either makes surgery a possibility or strong enough by itself.
Looks like lots of cuddles and grooming and a really easy life for my boy for now!
Sorry to go on, but it's all a bit depressing:(

So sorry about your bad news.....really hope you stat to feel bettee and can get o n soon. your doing the right thing lookibg after yourself

Your time will come!! And be all the sweeter for the wait. :)
Give your body time to strengthen, and you'll get there sooner than you know, and look back on this time as one full of wonderful cuddles and fuss for your boy, and that will make your bond with him all that more special.
Hang in there, hugs xxx

i cant imagine what you are going through..horses are great healers, you will bond with your horse while you heal...groom groom groom, and groom some more and when you can get on board you will feel great:).

All I can tell you is that a friend of mine (horsey chick!) had bone cancer. I saw her quite a few years ago and I was so shocked, she looked right on the brink.....but now, she is fantastic!! She adoped a special diet - something about almond kernels? But really, it's amazing., So don 't give up hope, if you want more info, email me!! All the best.

Just wanted to send a big virtual hug. It must be incredibly frustrating (and painful) but I'm sure you'll soon be able to be back in the saddle. Meanwhile Im' sure Oz will be up for lots of cuddles.

Poor you, sadly advice you must follow. Enjoy your horse's company and you will just have to think positive and imagine your riding together for now. Sending you good vibes :)

Well that's a pile of poo lass. Have lots of very gentle hugs. Enjoy this on the ground time with your lad.

Will be thinking of you.

This!!!

Think of how shiny your tack will be when you do get on for that sit....it might cause a solar flare.....:-)))

Gentle hug from here too....and if you need any help with your nags just post on here, Im sure help will come flocking in.
