Derby House customer service ARGH

So I get an email from Derby House on 16th Feb with some great jacket offers. Within 5 minutes I've bought a Toggi jacket for me and a Harry Hall jacket for an upcoming friend's birthday. Really pleased got myself a bargain!

A week later the Toggi jacket comes....no Harry Hall... nothing for weeks.....So last Monday I decided to call and find out what had happened as its been a month and friend's birthday is fast approaching. Derby House lady says it should have been posted by one of their stores. She will find out what happened and call me back. Nothing.

So on Wednesday I send an email asking what happened to my order - no reply - Nothing
On Friday - resent an email - no reply - Nothing. Friends birthday on the Sunday - been and gone!

So I've just tried calling again to be told it is out of stock and basically tough. "Oh and would you like to buy something else instead?" Was the email just a ploy to get me to buy a more expensive item? They have an online stock system and it said in stock when I pressed the buy button!

I feel really annoyed because I had to chase them to find out what was happening - why didn't they just contact me or even just reply to my calls or emails. It's such as a shame cos they sell some nice things - but as a customer - I hate being ignored and it makes me look a rubbish friend now because not only is her present late - its now non-existent!! Anyone else had similar experience? Rant over : )

Do a search on here for Derby House and unfortunately you'll get a lot of similar experiences.

Hope you manage to find something nice for your friend.
 
Im still waiting for 2 items I ordered in Feb. Got 1 item within a week but still waiting for the other 2 items. They didnt bother emailing or phoning me to tell me. I have done all the chasing like you and they said they are unable to get hold of any stock although their system showed stock when I placed my order and said delivery withing 7 working days. Im still waiting. I may contact them again to complain.
Oh and had to laugh i went to their new store which is 71 miles away from me but its the closest one to me. Hardly any stock what so ever didnt buy a thing complete waste of time going in my opinion.
 
That is why I haven't bought a thing from them in 8 years, but Ride-a-way send me 2/3 big parcels to France each year.

I wonder if they read what is said about them on this forum?
 
The prices reel you in and then they let you down. :( I had the same problem, their customer service is abysmal and some of their products just fall apart.

We wrote them a letter in the end (6 phonecalls and several emails achieved nothing) and eventually got a replacement rug for one which had broken.

I'm sorry to hear you've had a bad time with them. Do try writing them a letter - we got the rug replaced and just never sent the other one back.
