Derby House - order problems?

Just an update, I placed a small order with them about 3 weeks ago but heard nothing from them, then I spotted they'd taken the money from my account so assumed my order was on it's way - wrong! I spoke with one of their customer service team today and was told my order was placed on hold because one of the items was out of stock. It was a final clearance item so no chance of it coming back in stock but they apparently couldn't send out the rest of my order until I called to confirm they cancel the item in question. So those of you still waiting for orders it might be worth calling to check the hold up.

I just had a look on Companies House. Seems Derby House are in Voluntary Arrangement. I.e. they are technically insolvent and in liquidation but are allowed to clear stock with permission from their insolvency practitioner in order to raise funds to pay off their creditors. I suspect many orders will go unfulfilled. Please call, check, make sure you get your money back or get your goods because in my experience, purchasors are quite a way down the pecking order when it comes to payback.

I spotted this too. Fortunately my order now amounts to less than £10 so I won't be losing sleep over it if they don't fulfill it, but for those of you that took advantage of the 2 for £25 offer and haven't received your items I definitely call and check.

They did a good one to us. My mum was looking through the £10 sale and spotted Jeffries Hunter Weymouth bridles (£170-180 normally) so quickly bought and paid for 2. Money taken, no confirmation email. A week later mother dearest writes on their fb page asking where the bridles are as she hasn't received an email telling her they had been dispatched. Commebt got deleted. Another written, not as polite as the first and then she gets a private message from them saying that the bridles were never supposed to be in that bit but would send out 1 of them, give her. £10 gift voucher and any other Derby House own make bridle for £10 instead of the Jeffries one. Wonderful! Until you look on their website and they no longer have their own make of bridle and lo and behold the Jeffries obe hasn't turned up either yet! Not holding my breath on that one lol!

i ordered a pair of kinpurnie boots on the 9th of july told will be dispatched on 21st july (was fine with that as didnt mind waiting for a bargain) 23rd july still said waiting for stock from suppliers emailed them then was told 25th still no boots by 27th (still said waiting for stock) emailed them again they said 29th then had another email yesterday saying 5th of august!!! told them to refund my money and i WILL be reporting them to trading standards (they said refund will be with me in 6-10 days).

they did send me a £10 voucher which is a bit pathetic as wont be ordering from them again and if i did postage is nearly £5 so really only got a £5 voucher!!

i used to love dh but will stick with my local tack shop who are absolutely amazing (if you live in lincoln or nearby pm me and ill tell you which one) they are so helpful when i went to buy a new hat i was prepared to pay up to £100 but they showed me some really good ones in their sale and they will NOT try and push you to buy anything expensive if they have cheaper alternatives they will tell you i absolutely love that shop!!!

Just emailed to cancel my order as I completely don't trust them now! A shame as I do need the items that I ordered and the savings would have been great, but I'd rather not risk it.

Does anybody know anywhere else that is running offers on hard wearing leather country/yard boots? I'm not after anything fancy but need some waterproof, comfortable ones for when I'm not wearing my wellies (reserved for the worst weather).

Just placed an order.. Never had a problem in the past, and both products said they were in stock for delivery in 2-6 days. I shall wait and see...

I was interested to read this as I have experienced the same. I have used Derby House for over 15 years and they used to be brilliant. Recently I have found the delivery times very long and now I have trouble getting money back for returns. The last 3 returns I have had to ring them to chase them. I am now going to have to ring them again for the third time to get my last 2 items refunded. It amounts to nearly £100 and they have had my money for over 2 months and one of the items was returned 5 weeks ago, the other nearly 4 weeks ago. I returned them "signed for" delivery and was able to track them through the post office. They confirm that they were received. Sadly I won't be ordering again.

I've never had any problems with Derby House but I think you lot have now jinxed me😁
I ordered 5 items in the £10 sale a month ago and have received 2 items so far.
I got an email a week ago to say 1 item is unavailable so will refund me for it.
Emailed customer services to ask specifically about 1 of the outstanding items but no reply resent the email yesterday, still no reply.
Am not impressed😠
The item I'm desperate for was also on offer with equestrian clearance but the derby house price was an absolute bargain. Will phone them tomorrow and see what they say.
No doubt will end up having to buy it full price from somewhere when DH eventually admit they've no stock.
I've always defended DH on here but right now I'm not a happy bunny!!!

They have gone into voluntary administration (I think thats the correct term) you can look it up online, someone on horse gossip found out :)
