Derby House Rugs

My Tb has/had both brands of rug. She's approx 16.1 and not a small frame, I would say DH's are quite generous

Here is a couple of photos of our horse in her DH lightweights, to give you an idea of fit

They seem to be the marmite of the rug world!

Mine was rubbish, rubbed over her shoulders & leaked. Definately on the small side, length-wise too, not as deep as Weatherbeeta.

I know others who swear by them though, perhaps they fit TB types better than broader cobby types? :)

The one I got last winter seems quite broad (DH m/w with neck) but it is poor quality (part broke within 24 hrs, took months to get a replacement then that broke too). It doesn't rub or let the water in, it's just not very good, doesn't seem to be a nice fit and I am so frustrated with DH that I won't ever use them again. Having said that, some people rate their rugs.

On the other hand, I have the same horse in a Weatherbeeta and it's like a dream rug. Fantastic fit, excellent quality, keeps her dry and is really durable. I have learnt my lesson and would always rather spend the money now on a rug that lasts (ie. Weatherbeeta, Horseware etc).

Weird isn't it how one rug can be great for one horse and not so great for another.
For our horses Saxons aren't that great but I know others who swear by them
