derby house rugs?

still fine to order from. I bought jodphurs from them last monday and they were delivered on thursday!

I have three DH rugs all bought this year and I'm really happy with them. I have previously used masta and weatherbeeta rugs and I would say the fit is pretty similar. They are fairly generous over the shoulder, perfect for my girls (I have one of a Welsh D and the other on a Irish Draught). The necks (i you go for a full neck like mine) are also a nice generous size for my girls, both of whom I'd call MWs!

I have an "average" size 15.3 TB she is in a 6ft3. I find they come up narrow around the chest i have 2 fleeces a l/w turnout m/w stable and a flysheet and all are the same, the buckles are fine but they just dont seem to meet i can not have the velcro touching as this then makes them too narrow so i have to leave the velcro undone which then leaves a gap, to have the velcro fastened the buckles have to be on the smallest fastening which is too tight. The flysheet is the worst for this. As i say my horse isnt exactly wide so i dont understand why this happens. Length and depth wise they fit fine. Also the l/w turnout has lost all the filling along the spine and its gathered around the bottom so now little more than a rainsheet. All in all im not overly impressed and unless i saw one that was dirt cheap i wont be buying another.

Maybe its just mine! Mine are from last year so maybe the have made them more generous

Erm... truthfully...... i have hw derby house combo 1200d rug i purchased in Dec. My boy has worn it for a total of about 3 weeks and so far a chest clip has broken, the inside lining on his back has small holes where the fabric has worn through and 3 holes in the outer.

It's like a mini skirt on my boy too (sports horse but very much a draft). I would say they come up a little small.

Verdict... never ever buying one again!!!!! Look in premier equine sale instead!

I have a lot of derbyhouse's- mainly turnouts!
I find they come up a tad narrow in the chest then again I have a big chested highland. Brilliant fit though for my boy, pretty robust aswell, considering he spends his days rubbing himself of a top piece of barb wire and many trees, all whilst being wrestled by a cob who also wears derbyhouse!
He takes 6ft, he's around 14.1hh.
They don't rub(99% are nylon lined) they don't move and are reasonably light to move around even when SOAKED. I'd say they were around the same size as weatherbeeta's, my boy takes a 6ft in them also. (1200D are pathetic though, they are no better than the 600D's.)

-- going to attempt to put a picture up... it may not work! :P

Didn't work. They are in my album if you fancy seeing how they fit the pudding ;]

I like DH rugs, I like the vents in the shoulders (like weatherbeeta). My lad is 5'9" and his dh rugs (lw turnout and fly rug) fit fine in that size. Saying that, I think a 6ft would fit him fine as well and if there were no shoulder vents I'd go up a size. My lad is a chunky little fell and is mainly in weatherbeeta rugs (5'9").

We bought one for one of ours and went for the same size he usually has and it fits perfectly. He doesn't have a weatherbeeta but the one he has is true to size, could maybe go up one but don't really need to. Really impressed with it so far, it's more waterproof than his others, fits him so well & even has the easy to do up buckles for those cold days! Would definitely buy the same one again.

I got one a while back and it fits perfectly, the only problem is my horse turns out to be a rug wrecking, mud wallowing hippo in disguise
He trashed his weatherbeeta one so put on the shiney rug so I could mend the weatherbeeta and the next morning went to catch in... low and behold a lovely rip down the side about the size of my hand! It's a 1200D too! Que much grumbling from me :D

I got a navy 1200 d lightweight turnout recently when it was half-price (bargain at £30) and I like the fit on my chunky spanish chap, about as generous as a weatherbeeta. Same size too. Came quickly in the post, no problems at all.
After he has wrecked 3 lightweight amigos (that came up small) I am hoping the 1200 d will last a bit longer. It is certainly made from much thicker material with a nice shiny lining. So far so good!
