Derby House sale - real or not?!

I have bought things from Derby House many times before (with mixed success) and I am signed up for email updates on sales etc. Most days I get an email telling me about all their fabulous discounts and offers but when I look on their website, I can't really find anything discounted! There is a big message across their home page saying '£1 million summer extravaganza' and 'up to 50% off' but the only discounts I an see relate to Katie Price clothing and cow print rugs!

Am I missing something or is it just a big con to get people looking?
 
derby house have really p'd me off recently we got a leaflet type thing through the post once for a big sale went and nothing seemed to be on sale at all, the one thing i did find that i wanted had perviously had a sale sticker on it which had been pulled off, was quite irritated by it was a toatal wasted journey
 
Is it really bad that I want the cow print rug??! They just don't have it in Harry's size :( Anyone know where I can get a 6'3 cow print rug?? LOL
 
I only ever bought from derby hosue for years but in recent years I just haven't bought anything from there at all, They have really gone down hill in my books.
I get emails almost everyday telling me about the 'one day only' super sales. I don't find their sales to be particularly good though.

Quite agree. They used to be a quality retailer but once they started on all this Katie Price clothing (which, in all honesty would you be seen dead in??) then they seemed to stop stocking many better quality items. Much prefer Rideaway now!
 
I bought some really good stuff in Darby house sales a few years ago for a good discount, though one of the recent sales one of the 3 things I ordered arrived in a few days, the other in about 2 weeks, and the final item took over 2 months, despite me phoning them, then they aid they would phone back, which the didn't, then they said they would email. They didn't. I didn't complain, but over 2 months?? really!? I am not going to order from them again.
Smaller companies like Treehouse and Classic Dressage have excellent customer service.

Im really sorry, I have the fleece, the stable and the turnout for my chap, all in 6'9 or 7ft... he looks a complete and utter tit, and they were worth every penny. Actually not bad rugs to be fair!!!
 
Dont jump on them too much,
last week they had a 3 day sale with 20% off everything (bar air jackets, dubarry, stables and equitrek) I bought le chameau wellies, woof travel boots, mountain horse peak protector boots, caldene breeches, Rambo rug all 20% off and all but the wellies were on my doorstep the next day

Hehe can we see pics?? I love cow print and reckon Harry would look fab/hilarious :D The cows might think he was one of them!
 
I've just got a pair of Mountain Horse boots with 20% off. I put my order in on Sunday evening & paid for standard postage so I was pleasantly surprised when they turned up yesterday morning! I can't complain about that price or service.
 
Sounds like the 20% sale was pretty good then - perhaps they are just trying to shift old stock now then. Oh well, I'm sure my credit card won't mind!
 
They are the worst online shop that I have ever used. Even if they had the most fabulous bargains I don't think I'd bother giving them my custom.
