Derby House Sports Fly Rug Reviews please :)

Want to get one of these, http://www.derbyhouse.co.uk/Equestr...+Rugs/Derby+House+Sports+Fly+Rug_408-0008.htm
they look quite good for the price as i need one with a tummy flap thing because he just gets eaten alive.

How does the velcro and everything hold up and does it last, he needs a fly rug on 24/7 to stop him rubbing? Seems very good for the price!

Thanks :)

The one my liveries got was a terrible fit around the chest and neck (really small and wouldn't fasten even though she got a size bigger). You can even see it is tight on the model horse in the link. I love DH rugs but think there is a fault with some of these. They have had loads returned.

I got one recently (after an arguement about delivery costs, then the first rug being lost in transit ) and it's such a bad fit on the shoulders! I have no idea what alien horse they are meant to fit!

I know a few people with them, I think they're nice and good value! I think more suitable for less wide types rather than cobs though. I think the neck is really big!

I bought a derby house fly rug for my pony (who constantly gets rug rubs) and he has used it for 2-3 years without getting one rub or ripping it :) best rug he has :)

i bought one and sold it on Ebay far too tight on the shoulders. Just bought the gallop 4 in 1 one from ebay, loads better and similar price.

Chico has one and as he is a thin build it fits him fine on the chest but the underbelly strap hangs down and i have had to tie knots in the straps to get it to do up tight enough.

Both of mine (tb's, 15h2 and 15h3) have one and they fit really well. Not sure if they've changed the design though, on mine the neck cover goes over the ears and the face mask keeps it in place.

Both of my girls have one both fit well and have had them for 4 months youngster wears hers most days and stitching fine and very good for flys. The nck on both are very large and neither of my 2 have small necks both width or length, mine fit a pony hilt like a sec c and a Russian wb x hann who is getting wider by the day as she grows. However if you have a serial rug wrecker like my pony the stitching on the belly may give after a lot of wear and tear but only the Velcro would detach meaning rug not wrecked and can just be sown straight back on. Best fly rugs Ive had for the price, I would say they'd fit a not overly heavily built cob.

Having just looked at the pic on the adver they have definitely changed the rug design as neck is probably teach the size on mine bought this year.
