Derbyhouse Catalogue!!! Katie Price!

Copy of the Derbyhouse catalogue arrived today with Katie Price on the front, when you look at her products inside you almost have to wear sun glasses the pages are so PINK!

Turn over to the next page and it's Ariat, how dull does that look! and so plain, I always thought I was an Ariat fan! Don't think having these products together does Ariat any favours!

Then again why do they have to photograph KP so made up? she looks like she is made of plastic! I think I would like to see her looking more natural, especially as she is endorsing an outdoorsey sport!

Oh well my grumble of the day, maybe others won't notice but as I work in publishing these daft things tend to stick out!!

Thats the thing with ol'KP - yes she has always ridden etc etc etc......but totally agree with the make-up thing.
She will prob not appeal to any 'proper' horsey people - I don't think she really does us any favours you know....my OH friends already think the yard must be full of young skinny large chested birds in v white/tight joddies, and they are devastated when OH has to tell them its actually full of rather smelly scruffy looking middle aged women in jeans and wellies

Doubt any of us will be sporting her attire.
 
If you wanted KP'S stuff to look natural then she should be the last person to advertise it,she is as natural as a barby doll and her lips?? whats going on there

Sadly not the skinny big chested bird but the scruffy middle aged one!

Also sadly we are a pretty large percentage of the riding public and some even have money to spend on products so would not go for the day glo pink! That's just my opinion by the way!
 
Sorry but I am a big supporter of hers - she will show a lot of people that horses are not an elitist sport - however, I do wish she would tone down the make up a little and get a decent stylist!

Personally, I can't stand KP, but I do admire her business sense.
All these horsey folk turning their noses up at her, is creating a huge amount of publicity for her clothing range.
She must be laughing all the way to the bank...
 
I agree she has a knack of turning everything she touches to cold hard cash. However I think it's this that annoys me about her, I get the impression that she can't do anything for the love of it. Even her "hobby" is a money spinner.
 
I am just surprised that the BSJA haven't asked her to be the front-woman for them, she fits in well with their last tacky trashy advertising campaign. Did the BEF not see the response by sponsors to that mess?
 
Personally i dont like her and never have. Everyone at my yard hates her range and we don't have the money to spend on it either. I spoke to a child about my age who rides in a riding school and said she loves it and so do many of her riding friends (btw im not meaning to be rude about people that go to riding schools - i was at one!). The girls mum was also a big fan of KP and un-horsey and was intending to buy some of her products.
I was listening to her on the tv a few weeks ago and she said she wants to get city kids riding, surley she would be better to set up a riding school for kids in towns/cities and do cheap holidays and lessons rather then focus on her olympic dressage career.
 
I think she gets such a hard time but she's actually a very astute businesswoman - we were talking about her last night (one of my friends works at a DH branch and she's coming up to do promo) and we all agreed she's brilliant. Don't get me wrong I won't be pottering around the yard in hot pink velour sweatpants but I bet there are plenty who will - as was mentioned above "laughing all the way to the bank..."

haha yeah KP is too made up IMO to be promoting her products, everyone knows that horsey girls muck out instead of make up! haha having said that, i do like 2 of the products (particularly the llong rugby shirt)
will have another look at the ariat stuff, as i am interested in getting a new pair of long boots
def dont like KP on the front cover! but then again, its all part of promoting and attracting more of an audience!
