Derek has twins (not personally!)

Millie a 17.1hh event mare has given birth to healthy twins by Derek. She managed to hold on till 3 weeks past her due date and has produced a palomino and a chestnut, both colts. She is a maiden mare but is being a first class mum to both foals.

Um, how come one wasn't pinched? Personally wouldn't have risked it myself. Atleast one of the foals, if they survive, will be smaller than others of their age

The lady who owns the mare says the vet tried to pinch one but was unsuccessful. He said one would probably resorb naturally, which is quite usual, so she decided to go with it! Fingers crossed they make it!

Being smaller than normal might not be a bad thing in this case as mum is 17.1hh and dad is 16.3hh
